Web Based Tools.2.0

.
Audio Media
The audio media that I anticipate using is Audacity because it allows you to record and I was thinking that perhaps I can record my lesson for students that missed it or I can create an activity that involves student recording and editing.
Still Media
I would like to explore Cacoo for still media because it will allow me to create visual diagrams that I can use with struggling learners and it will allow me to create graphic organizers in which students can perhaps analyze symbolism or character analysis.Students can collaborate and use visuals in order to expand their literacy.  This will also assist struggling learners and allow visuals to be used in conjunction with writing.
Moving Media
For moving media I have decided to explore Animoto solely because it will allow my students to have a visual of my lesson it will also allow for an agenda to be displayed some students are on track and are able to pace themselves properly.

Hello my name is Esther Hernandez. I am currently a High School English Teacher in Brooklyn NY. I teach one section of 9th grade, one section of 10th grade and three sections of 11th grade. I spend most of my time in the classroom, tutoring, writing lesson plans and coaching the Girl’s Double Dutch team. I am currently enrolled in this course to further assist me with some of my goals for the classroom. Unfortunately I am not as technologically savvy as most 24 year old college students, however I use a smart board in my classroom and I cannot stress the utter importance of using technology in my classroom. In the classroom, I use technology to display my lesson, incorporate visual literature with written literature and pace at a moderate time. I would love to learn how to successfully incorporate Blogs/Discussion Boards in my classroom to make learning and ideas easily accessible through technology. About me: I currently live in New Jersey and I am pursuing a Master's  in Literacy Education. I aspire to become a principal of a high school and use instruction and technology to foster my vision. If I am not teaching, I am at home attending to my three dogs and relaxing. I enjoy my profession although it may be challenging at times due to several circumstances outside my control. I hope to use what I learn in this course in my classroom. I am excited to be apart of this course! Click on the link for a Podcast about me!

Eminem & Motor City

The purpose of this video is to create a sense of opportunity for achievement by those in the struggling working class. This video is intended to advertise a luxury vehicle in an area(Detroit) that is portrayed as difficult. The video is created to allude that the luxurious and carefully crafted vehicle can be accessible to all people regardless of income and experience.  The video implies that Detroit has been through various struggles and tribulations that they could overcome and conquer; this allusion is intended to imply that like Detroit, Chrysler manufacturer has overcome several obstacles to achieve and conquer other brands in order to perfect theirs. The video targets a specific audience in that Chrysler should be purchased by those who live in Chicago. The commercial specifically captures the eye of those who struggled throughout their life and desire luxury or those whom “been through hell and back”. The appeals to the audience by using terminology such as “the hottest fires make the hardest steel”, this term can literally refer to the materials made to compose the vehicle and it may also refer to those who live in Detroit that endure and overcome hardship and deserve luxury. In the video, Eminem creates credibility for the audience because those who are familiar with his background realize that he is also from Detroit and has also succeeded many of life’s obstacles. The vehicle’s finer qualities and elegant appearance can be attainable by several people. Eminem has been singled out because he illustrates success in America and shows his pride and admiration for his hometown and uses the vehicle as a symbol for success and power. The commercial uses the church choir to symbolize that Eminem should be idolized due to his Chrysler. The church choir actively sings in the presence of the rapper to expose Eminem as powerful with the possession of the vehicle. This medium was used to market the public because it created commonality by using setting and celebrities as the voice of the people.
