  1. Hi Esther! I really love how your project is coming along and how you are able to execute it with your students!
Proposal- It is great how you are creating an opportunity for collaboration through peer editing.
Praise- I love your peer-editing proposal. Often times students simply use a checklist and check YES. You ask students to delve deeper and specifically identify specific elements of the essay. If a student cannot find supporting evidence, they have the graphic organizer to refer to. This allows students to really pinpoint their feedback.
Question- I love how you provide an animoto exemplar for students to model after. You mentioned how you did not use specifics because students might copy. What do you do you be certain students know how to make those connections and pull specific examples from the text?
How do you find the blog community feel, are students engaging in communication or just completing the assignment?
Polish- It sounds like your blog has been really successful so far. I would love to see examples of student work and how they have worked together to enhance their peers writing.

  2. Hi Esther,

I really love how your website is coming along! I think its great that you added so many resources (and a model) on the site for students to use. I know too often that students always lose their papers, so by having the graphic organizer and other resources in one central place on your blog - they'll always know where to look if they can't find it. One thing that I noticed is that its very teacher to student directed (not that it's a bad thing!) but would you possibly want to include a component that encourages students to collaborate or share their work on the blog? Other than that, I love how its turning out and I can definitely see it being used effectively in the classroom. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Esther--Your website looks great! I think this is something that could easily be used in class. What I like about this is how you are designing something that could actually be used in your class year after year.

One of the things that I think is amazing is the graphic organizer for the argumentative essay. This is a huge component of the NGSS science standards and I found it very useful. I am seeing the same type of struggles in my students.

The peer review is crucial and your project helps students through this process. I think that positive critique is important for the improvement process of their writing.

This looks like a great project! I can't wait to see how the final comes out.
